My name is Julien, and for years, I did what most people do: commute, work, sleep. A stable job, a salary that comes in, a life that passes by without really choosing it.

Then my wife became pregnant, and I realised that "stable" did not mean "chosen". I wanted to build something, not to become rich, but to become free. Free to decide how I spend my days, free to be present for my family, free to do my job well without asking anyone for permission.

Villa Quiétude is that freedom.

Why here, why now

Charente-Maritime is not a coincidence in my journey.

My wife and I used to come here on holiday when we lived elsewhere. La Rochelle, Royan, the Île de Ré... These places where we could finally breathe, where time slowed down, where we said to ourselves "one day, we will live here". One day, we took the plunge, and it has been a few years now since we turned that dream into our daily life.

I have had the time to learn about this territory in its details, not just the postcards but the real things. The neighbourhoods that flood during high tides, the prevailing winds that tear off tiles in certain areas, the serious craftsmen who really respond, the roads that get cut off in winter. The specifics of each municipality, the particularities of each coastal microclimate.

This knowledge cannot be invented; it is lived daily. And that is exactly what you need when you entrust your house to someone.

The problem that no one solves

Since I have been living here, I see these houses that remain closed for entire months. These beautiful properties in Minimes, Châtelaillon, on the Île de Ré or in Royan deserve so much more than an occasional glance.

You own a second home in Charente-Maritime, you do not rent it out because it is not an investment but your own place. Your weekends, your family summers, perhaps your retirement plans. And you are struggling to find someone who will take care of it really seriously.

Traditional concierge services want short-term rentals, that’s where their margin is. You, the owner who does not rent, are the "bonus" client, the one they take if they have time, the one they call back after the others. What I am building

Villa Quiétude is a concierge service designed exclusively for non-rental property owners in Charente-Maritime. No conflicts of interest with Airbnb clients who would come before you, no juggling between rentals and oversight, just you and your property.

Specifically, I offer scheduled visits according to your plan (from once a month to once a week depending on your needs), with a systematic checklist at each visit because a "quick glance" does not protect anything at all. You receive a detailed photo report accessible 24/7 in your client area, with an immediate alert if I detect anything abnormal.

If needed, I coordinate service providers (plumber, electrician, gardener, roofer), and as I am based in Charente-Maritime, I can respond quickly in case of emergency. You are not paying for someone to "take a look", you are paying for peace of mind 500 kilometres away.

Does that compensate for ten years of experience in the field? No, and I will never claim otherwise. Does that mean I will do everything to earn your trust and that your home will be treated with a level of attention that no large organisation could ever offer? Absolutely.

My commitment to you

When I push the door of your home in La Rochelle, Royan, Châtelaillon or on the Île de Ré, I am not doing a simple "routine visit" where we mechanically tick boxes.

I really look, I listen for unusual noises, I sense if something has changed since the last time. That damp patch on the ceiling, was it already there or is it new? That slight whistling behind the wall, where is it coming from exactly? The mail piling up in the box, it's a visible signal for all the burglars in the neighbourhood.

Small problems become catastrophic when no one detects them in time, and that's exactly why I exist. When I spot something abnormal, you know immediately, with photos, with my recommendations, and if necessary, I call the right tradesperson directly.

You don't manage emergencies from a distance, you simply validate my proposals. That's the whole difference between "monitoring from afar" and "watching closely".

Who I work for

Villa Quiétude is not for everyone, and I prefer to be honest about that.

I work with owners who do not rent out their second home (that's my only non-negotiable condition), who want proper documented professional oversight rather than a neighbourly glance that is well-meaning but unreliable, who appreciate total transparency on prices, processes, and interventions, and who are based elsewhere but deeply love their home here.
